Job Title: Receiving Clerk (Non-Union)

Department: Supply

Reports to: Procurement Specialist –Jennifer Durr

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

Receiving Clerk is responsible for the accurate and efficient receipt, inspection, and recording of incoming materials and supplies. This role involves unloading shipments, verifying quantities documenting discrepancies, and updating inventory records. They also ensure the proper storage of received items and may be involved in processing returns.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Receiving and Unloading, accepting deliveries from various vendors and unloading materials from trucks.
  • Verifying shipments, comparing packing lists to purchase orders, checking for discrepancies in quantities or damage, and ensuring accuracy of deliveries.
  • Documenting recording all received items, updated inventory records, and reporting any issues or discrepancies.
  • Processing returns, handling the return of incorrect or damaged items, including packaging and preparing them for shipment
  • Maintaining records, keeping accurate records of all incoming shipments, inventory levels, and any related documentation.
  • Maintaining the work area, keeping the receiving area clean and organized
  • Communicating, interacting with vendors, suppliers, and other departments regarding shipments, delays, or other issues.
  • Other duties can be assigned by supervisor

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • The employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. 
  • The employee frequently is required be a good listener and communicator
  • The employee may frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to work in hot/cold temperatures
  • Ability to stand and use hands for 8-11 hours per day

 

 

What You’ll Need:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience: Previous training experience preferred; positive and motivated attitude.
  • Skills: Strong communication skills and professional demeanor; ability to work in hot/cold environments and stand for long periods; excellent organizational and time management skills; flexible schedule (including weekends as needed); independent, confident, and reliable with great attendance.
