Transplant Surgeon (Kidney and Pancreas)
Description
The Queen's University Medical Group is seeking a Transplant Fellowship-trained kidney and pancreas transplant surgeon with some opportunities to be involved with liver transplants to join a growing transplant program in Hawaii. Willingness to practice general surgery is a must in this position. The candidate must:
- Have completed an ASTS-approved transplant fellowship program
- Experience in adult kidney and pancreas transplant surgery
- Be well versed in all phases of the transplant process
- Be willing to perform general, some laparoscopic, hepatobiliary, and vascular access surgeries
- Committed to excellence in quality and outcome
- Have outstanding communication skills for collaboration and teaching
- Be skilled and experienced in laparoscopic living donor nephrectomies
- Be willing to participate in organ recovery services with the local OPO
- Have some affinity or ties to Hawaii for long-term commitment to our community
- Be willing to take a fair share of service calls
- Participate in program development, quality improvement, and outreach
Minimum Qualifications
- Board-certified in general surgery
- ASTS certified fellowship completed and meet certification requirements for kidney and pancreas transplant
- Eligible for medical licensure in Hawaii
- Preference with existing ties to Hawaii
Compensation is between $437,000-460,000/annually with opportunity for productivity incetives.
