Description

The Queen's University Medical Group is seeking a Transplant Fellowship-trained kidney and pancreas transplant surgeon with some opportunities to be involved with liver transplants to join a growing transplant program in Hawaii. Willingness to practice general surgery is a must in this position. The candidate must:
  • Have completed an ASTS-approved transplant fellowship program
  • Experience in adult kidney and pancreas transplant surgery
  • Be well versed in all phases of the transplant process
  • Be willing to perform general, some laparoscopic, hepatobiliary, and vascular access surgeries
  • Committed to excellence in quality and outcome
  • Have outstanding communication skills for collaboration and teaching
  • Be skilled and experienced in laparoscopic living donor nephrectomies
  • Be willing to participate in organ recovery services with the local OPO
  • Have some affinity or ties to Hawaii for long-term commitment to our community
  • Be willing to take a fair share of service calls
  • Participate in program development, quality improvement, and outreach

Minimum Qualifications

  • Board-certified in general surgery
  • ASTS certified fellowship completed and meet certification requirements for kidney and pancreas transplant
  • Eligible for medical licensure in Hawaii
  • Preference with existing ties to Hawaii

Compensation is between $437,000-460,000/annually with opportunity for productivity incetives.
