Description

The Queen’s Medical Center, the primary teaching facility for the University of Hawaii, is seeking a full-time Transplant Nephrologist. We have a preference for a Nephrologist who is excited by an opportunity to join an expanding program that services all the people of Hawaii and the Pacific Basin in a 575-bed Level I Trauma Center located in Honolulu.  

The applicant must be a BC/BE in nephrology with transplant nephrology experience, preferably Fellowship-trained. The applicant must be eligible to meet requirements as UNOS primary physician in kidney transplantation and preferably pancreas transplantation. Participation in medical education is expected. Applicants should qualify for an appointment at the Assistant Professor level or higher at the John A. Burns School of Medicine at the University of Hawaii. 

Minimum Qualifications:  

Education/Certification and Licensure: 

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Medicine or Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (EC FMG) certification.
  • Board certified or board eligible in nephrology.
  • Fellowship in transplant nephrology preferred.
  • Eligible to meet requirements as UNOS primary physician in kidney and pancreas transplantation.
  • Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Hawaii.
  • Current BLS certification.

Experience: 

  • During the period of employment, shall be and remain a member of the QMC medical staff in good standing with appropriate privileges without restriction.
  • Qualified for an appointment on the faculty of the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine.
  • Ideal candidate will have at least two (2) years of experience in Transplant Nephrology.

 

Starting salary from $320,000 to $356,000 with opportunity for additional productivity incentives.
