JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides endocrinology (outpatient & inpatient) services at The Queen’s Medical Center (QMC).
CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides professional services in the specialty of endocrinology on behalf of QMC.
- Provides outpatient clinic and inpatient consultation patient care services.
- Makes referrals to supplementary care and diagnostic resources within The Queen's Health Systems to benefit patients, including Diabetes Education resources.
- Provides timely communication with referring medical professionals, including primary care and consulting specialists.
ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- In collaboration with Medical Center physicians, develops clinical protocols that provide the framework for up-to-date diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment of common endocrinology conditions.
- Continues post-graduate education as required by applicable licensing laws and as requested by the Medical Center.
- Monitors and works with the Medical Center to meet measurable quality standards as determined during annual review.
- Participates in the education of nursing staff and advanced practice providers.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Medicine or EC FMG certification.
- Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Hawaii.
- Board Certification or Board eligible in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology.
- Fellowship trained in Endocrinology.
- During the period of employment, after the first year, shall be and remain a member of the QMC medical staff in Active Category in good standing with appropriate privileges without restriction.
Base salary begins at $249,432/year with opportunity for productivity and quality incentives.
