VP Sales –Horticulture/Ag Products – Startup
Location: Remote – USA only
Citizen or Green Card Holder
Compensation: $70K - $100K + commission
Our client is a funded startup that has developed unique products that are great for the environment, uses recycled materials and is reducing the use of a natural occurring product that is being heavily depleted worldwide.
The ideal candidate for this role will have a rolodex of contacts in the Horticulture and Agriculture wholesalers and commercial markets. Experience working for one of the big Ag or Horticulture corporations in a sales or business development senior role.
As the company grows, the opportunity to move into a COO or CEO role is possible.
The VP Sales will be responsible for:
- Closing sales agreements from your contacts for the 2024 season; this is an immediate need and is job one the first few months.
- Building and leading a sales organization as the company ramps up on sales
- Formulate long-term plans for the existing sales organization
- Including personnel plan
- Sales programs
- Discussion regarding distributors
- Approaching Big Box stores
- Other critical growth items
Qualifications:
- MUST have five or more years’ experience in sales Horticulture and/or Agriculture products for an industry leader
- Be able to talk the language of the industry and willing to learn
- Prior sales leadership experience with a team of four or more
- Meeting or exceeding sales quotas both personal and team constantly
- Driven to success in a growing startup
Salary plus healthy commission program and equity. There will be a review of base salary as more funding is closed and sales targets are achieved.
