About the Role
Responsibilities
- Interpretation, review and SAP approval of Port Commerce leases with fixed and percentage fee provisions and various other Port Commerce related revenues such as dockage/wharfage and Cargo Facility Charges
- Updating Consumer Price Index tables for rent escalations for fixed rent roll monthly
- Preparing journal entries for month-end closing
- Preparing monthly, semi-annual and year-end revenue variance analyses
- Helping Properties staff in resolving billing discrepancies and tenant inquiries
- Completing special project assignments as required
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or Corporate Finance from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience.
- In lieu of bachelor’s degree a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience can be accepted.
- Applicants must meet all performance and attendance standards and have completed all probationary periods.
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of Port Authority accounting and financial structure.
- Knowledge of Port Authority businesses and operations.
- Knowledge of GAAP as it relates to the Port Authority.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, work independently and prioritize tasks.
- Demonstrated strong analytical skills in reconciling financial information.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and communicate complex information clearly and accurately.
- Effective written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to interact effectively with internal and external staff at all levels.
- Working knowledge of SAP.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey anticipates that the actual salary offered to a successful candidate will depend on aspects such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and internal factors.
The expected compensation range for this role is:
Minimum: $58,292 Midpoint: $75,796 Maximum: $93,288
In accordance with Port Authority policy, this position permits employees to work remotely a maximum of one day per week, subject to operational and business needs.
