About the Role

The Contract Recruiter plays a key role in attracting and hiring the talent that helps drive the agency’s mission forward. Reporting to the Manager, Talent Acquisition, this position is responsible for managing a high volume of critical PA & PATH recruitments in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. You’ll partner closely with Human Capital stakeholders, department leaders, and employees across the agency to identify and recruit top talent, helping ensure the workforce is equipped to deliver on the agency’s capital plan, strategic priorities, and long-term goals.

Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle recruitment for a diverse portfolio of internal and external positions, from intake through offer acceptance and onboarding coordination.
  • Lead intake and kickoff meetings with hiring managers and stakeholders to understand business needs, define hiring strategies, and establish recruitment timelines.
  • Provide market insights and strategic guidance on talent availability, recruiting trends, and competitive hiring practices.
  • Source and engage qualified candidates using a variety of channels, including professional networks, job boards, and proactive outreach.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition leaders, Human Capital colleagues, and hiring managers to identify workforce needs and develop effective recruitment strategies.
  • Assist in designing job descriptions and interview questions that reflect each position’s responsibilities and qualifications.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand position requirements and develop appropriate recruitment timelines.
  • Develop strong relationships with both candidates and hiring managers to bring the recruitment process to a conclusion promptly.
  • Manage selection processes, which include background checks, extending and negotiating employment offers, and much more.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in HR or related fields; additional relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
  • 6+ years of experience with full life-cycle recruiting, developing recruitment strategies, and client/candidate management
  • Experience using Applicant Tracking Systems

Selection Process

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey anticipates that the actual salary offered to a successful candidate will depend on aspects such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and internal factors. The expected compensation range for this role is:​

 

Minimum: $43.00/hr      Maximum: $69.00/hr

 

In accordance with Port Authority policy, this position permits employees to work remotely a maximum of one day per week, subject to operational and business needs.
