Serves as a specialized clinical provider expert clinician and role model in Palomar Health's Occupational Medicine Employee Health programs. Works collaboratively with physician counterparts to manage the health care needs of our specific Occupational medicine patient populations. Performs initial and periodic physical examinations and medical history in an outpatient setting. Orders appropriate lab tests, x-rays, EKG, and comparable procedures, according to criteria previously established by the responsible physician. Writes orders to increase, decrease or change medication. Maintains required documentation and consults with physician on changes in the patient's condition. Counsels patients as to specifics related to their Occupational injury and recovery process, including prescribed treatments and prescribed medications. Functions as an active member of a multi-disciplinary team to coordinate efforts across the health system that maximize clinical and financial outcomes. Speak and read English at a level that is sufficient to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of the position. Knowledge of standard office equipment (i.e., calculator, fax, photocopier) and personal computer and computer software skills (i.e., MS Windows, Excel, Access, Word, Powerpoint, internet, e-mail). Windows computer skills including proficient use of keyboarding, use of mouse or keys for functions such as selecting items, use of drop down menus, scroll bars, opening folders, copying and similar operations required upon employment or within the 1st two weeks of employment to perform the essential functions of the job. Performs other duties as assigned. Follows Palomar Health rules, policies, procedures, applicable laws and standards. Carries out the mission, vision, and quality commitment of Palomar Health.

Minimum Education: As required by certification and/or licensure
Preferred Education: Not Applicable
Minimum Experience: 1 - 2 year's work with adult patients as Physician Assistant
Preferred Experience: 3 - 5 year's clinical practice with adult patients in emphasis of injury management & Primary Care as a Physician Assistant
Required Certification: American Heart Association recognized BLS - Healthcare Provider
Preferred Certification: Not Applicable
Required License: Current CA Physician Assistant License
Preferred License: Not Applicable
