JOB SUMMARY:
The individual in this position will perform a variety of general duties around the shop and yard. Service Utility will pressure wash equipment and assist the Serviceman with mechanical tasks, project management service, pre-delivery inspection and the operation of equipment in and around the yard environment. This individual will also clean mechanical parts and components and accurately complete service reports.
COMPETENCIES:
- Effective reading and writing skills necessary.
- Must have a strong mathematical and mechanical aptitude.
- Basic computer skills needed, including use of Microsoft applications.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 0-2 years of general mechanical experience required or must have mechanical education in the absence of mechanical work experience.
- Knowledge and/or experience with diesel engines and/or heavy equipment desired.
- Basic knowledge of the application, operation, and function of Caterpillar equipment, engines, and diagnostic tools.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Lifting/Carrying 40 lb. Lift/Carry and 50lb pulling. Standing/Sitting Up and down stairs, standing, sitting, and climbing into machines. Dexterity Normal. Repetitive Motions Frequent movement requiring hands, wrists, and fingers. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible.
