I Build America -

ABOUT US

As the area’s exclusive Caterpillar dealer, Ohio CAT sells and services Caterpillar equipment, engines and related products. Customers of Ohio CAT expect a high degree of product quality and durability backed by exceptional customer service. As a sales and service organization, our people make all the difference.

Ohio CAT service emphasizes customer support after the sale—a tradition held since the organization’s founding in 1945. Ohio CAT’s promise, “The Quality You Expect. The Service You Deserve,” prioritizes customer service and the difference the company brings to its valued customers.

Ohio CAT’s operations include four divisions--equipment, power systems, agriculture, and growth opportunities--which support the equipment and engine needs of Ohio’s vital industries. Additional services include component remanufacturing, support for all makes of on highway trucks, buses and emergency vehicles, and advanced technology and productivity solutions.

With a product line of over 300 Caterpillar machines, the Equipment Division offers extensive new and used equipment options. Through The Cat Rental Store locations, Cat machines, attachments and additional rental products are available for rent. With SITECH Ohio, customers can leverage technology in their operations. Additionally, Complete Hydraulic Service and International Fuel Systems provide hydraulic components and aftermarket parts support.

Ohio CAT’s Ag Division (Ohio Ag Equipment) provides farming equipment backed by highly trained ag service technicians, 24/7 emergency support, and best-in-class parts distribution.

The Power Systems Division meets emergency, standby, prime and continuous electric power generation needs with a complete line of diesel and natural gas generators. From emergency power at area hospitals to special events power and temperature control at large entertainment venues, Ohio CAT’s solutions handle even the most demanding installations in the harshest environments. The Power Systems division also sells emergency vehicles, buses, and Peterbilt trucks, as well as servicing these vehicles and trucks.

While Ohio CAT’s capabilities are vast in scope, its strength can be attributed to its deep Ohio roots. Originally based in Columbus, Ohio CAT moved to Cleveland in 1946. In 1961, the company was reorganized and purchased what was then called Ohio Machinery Co. In 2003, the organization changed its name from Ohio Machinery Co. to Ohio CAT. Today, Ohio CAT remains a Cleveland-based operation that employs over 1,500 people and has more than 30 branch locations throughout Ohio, northern Kentucky, and southeastern Indiana.

Part of Ohio CAT culture is supporting the communities where employees live and work. The company sponsors many local organizations and donates funds to support community growth and welfare programs. Employees are encouraged to volunteer and a corporate match for employee financial giving. In addition, Ohio CAT provides significant philanthropic support to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force in Dayton, the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio based in Nelsonville, the Cleveland Museum of Art, and Cleveland’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum. Importantly, Ohio CAT also lends its support to I Build America-Ohio to raise awareness of careers in construction in order to fill the construction industry’s ongoing employment gap.
