JOB SUMMARY: 

The primary responsibility of the General Manager, Rental Sales is to direct the actions, counsel, coach, and supervise the employees charged with maximizing rental sales revenue generated through rental representatives and strategic account rental representatives. This role will obtain business plan net revenue goals, assist with marketing efforts, develop the rental team, and oversee major sales negotiations.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prefer a bachelor's degree, formal college training, and/or additional training in related areas.
  • Five to Eight years of industry experience is required.
  • Retail sales experience and customer relations would be beneficial.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the training and support capabilities within the Caterpillar organization, of the start-up procedures necessary for a rental store, and of the operations, sales, service, and systems required.
  • The ability to perform and explain every job in the rental store and organize and deliver basic rental training on products, operations, sales, service, and systems is required.
  • Must have strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and DBS.

KEY COMPETENCIES:

  • Sound organizational skills with the ability to coordinate programs and logistics associated with the programs is required. 
  • Mechanical aptitude would be very beneficial.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting, to stand or sit for prolonged periods, and to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist as required. Ability to lift, carry push or pull light to moderate amounts of weight. Ability to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including the use of a computer keyboard. Ability to verbally communicate to exchange information. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible.
