Title: Diagnostic Customer Coordinator - Radiology Support Service - Danbury Hospital - Danbury, CT Full Time Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm 

Summary:

The Diagnostic Coordination Coordinator 1 serves as a vital liaison between radiologists, community physicians, imaging departments, and patients, ensuring seamless coordination of imaging services, accurate documentation, and timely communication to support high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate consults and follow-up on studies and patient care issues.
  2. Ensure timely processing of STAT readings by contacting referring physicians for preliminary reports.
  3. Relay messages to radiologists in a clinically appropriate manner, including addendum requests.
  4. Utilize Cerner and PACS systems to obtain, upload CDs, and manage prior films/studies and reports.
  5. Monitor PACS for unread reports and pending prior imaging.
  6. Advise patients, physicians, and staff on proper test preparation, appointment details, and arrival times required for diagnostic tests.
  7. Accurately document special requests or comments in the scheduling system.
  8. Perform accurate patient search and selection to maintain EMR integrity.
  9. Complete pre-registration with accurate demographic and financial data to support billing.
  10. Follow up with patients, offices, and coworkers regarding scripts, authorizations, and paperwork.
  11. Manage order corrections per financial department requests.
  12. Burn imaging discs for operating rooms, cardiology, and patients upon request.
  13. Answer phones, route calls, and ensure accurate communication both verbally and via EMR.
  14. Maintain and model Nuvance Health values.
  15. Demonstrate regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
  16. Perform other duties as assigned.

Education Skills Experience:

Essential: HS Graduate or Equivalent

Desired:  Associate's Degree, Cerner, Document Imaging, PACS, Soarian Scheduling. 

Minimum Experience: Three years: Data Entry, Microsoft Word, Excel, & Outlook, and Customer Service. One year of medical terminology knowledge required. 

Customer service and organizational skills. 

    Salary Range: $17.00 - $31.36 Hourly
