nLIGHT is seeking a Quality Inspector to join our quality team located in Hillsboro, Oregon. This role will perform sample inspection and measurement of incoming parts and paperwork to satisfy production requirements. This role supports first article inspection of new parts and/or parts from new suppliers. This position will record inspection results and initiate disposition of non-conforming parts.

Functions

  • Inspect parts/material/paperwork.
  • Complete inspection records.
  • Raise NCMs for non-conforming material.
  • Complete Incoming Inspection data for Supplier Quality reporting
  • Daily routine is to inspect parts and material, as well as supplier documents, according to the drawing specification and inspection requirement.
  • Ensure the inspected parts conforming to the requirements.
  • Ensure inspection sampling process and inspection records are complete and following the procedures.
  • Ensure inventory and transactions are accurate.
  • Create NCMs for non-conforming material. Apply tighten sampling or 100% inspection to the supplier shipment lots until supplier has taken the corrective actions

Qualifications

 

  • ASQ Certified Quality Inspector preferred
  • Experience with Inspection/measurement of precision mechanical and optical components/assemblies, and printed circuit board assemblies using micrometers, calipers, go/no-go gauges, microscopes, optical comparators, Coordinate Measuring Machines, etc. required
  • ERP system transactions knowledge required.
  • Inspection of components for laser diode assemblies and fiber optics preferred
  • ISO 9001 experience preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret Engineering Drawings.
  • Understanding of basic quality terms, definitions and concepts
  • Ability to use inspection equipment including CMM and identify/recognize measurement errors and initiate corrective actions
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office programs such as Excel, Access, etc.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
