Requirements and responsibilities
What you'll do:
- Responsible for the design and architecture of the client's CX LAN/WAN architectures which include VPN, Security, MPLS, and Voice Over IP;
- Evaluate current and emerging technologies, including traffic load balancing, VoIP, MPLS, QoS, 10 Gigabit Ethernet, and VLANs;
- Assess the technical viability, raises technical issues, and defines the technical risks associated with customer and business requirements;
- Develop detailed design specifications for LAN/WAN infrastructure including space, power, copper, and fiber cabling requirements;
- Document design according to company and departmental standards and develops detailed implementation documentation for use by operational and maintenance organizations;
- Provide training for Tier 1 and 2 personnel and develops design standards to meet customer, operations, and process objectives.
What you'll bring:
- Advanced knowledge/experience with AWS or Azure cloud services;
- Experience with OSPF, BGP, VRRP, STP, TCP/IP, Ethernet, VLAN, sub-netting;
- Experience with Leaf/Spine architecture, EVPN, SD-WAN, IPSec, NSX, VXLAN, DNS;
- Experience working with vendors/platforms: Routers/Switches: Arista, Juniper, Aruba, Cisco; Firewalls: Palo Alto, Fortinet; Load Balancers: F5, public cloud LB’s; Automation/scripting: Python, Ansible, Terraform, CloudFormation, Yaml, Chef, Puppet;
- Work experience with Enterprise or carrier-level networks, planning, designing, and provisioning network infrastructure in the public cloud and Firewall technologies.
