Description
Job Duties
Cleans work and eating areas.
Follows cleaning/sanitizing guidelines for all work areas.
Cooking
Cooks foods according to specified diet plans and menus
Utilizes specified equipment such as stove, deep fryer, steam table, etc., according to established safety and operating guidelines.
Follows standard recipes.
Makes efficient use of time to ensure food is served at desired temperatures.
Food Preparation
Prepares food for cooking, serving and storage.
Utilizes necessary equipment such as mixer, meat processor, slicer, etc., and prepares food using appropriate techniques.
Evaluates food by sight and taste to determine proper cooking time and seasoning.
Ensures proper labeling and storage of unused foods.
Maintains supplies and food items to meet needs of recipe and alerts supervisor of shortages.
Serving
Serves food onto patient trays according to diet plans.
Places proper food portions onto trays as specified by diet plan and age.
Follows specified patient and employee menus.
Transports food from preparation and cooking areas to serving line on a timely basis.
Education
High School Diploma (Equivalent)
4 years of Hospitality/Food Services - Cooks/Restaurant experience required
Licensure/Certification
None Required
Required Skills
Must be able to read, write and understand written and oral instructions.
Must be able to keep a safe, sanitary environment while giving the highest quality care to all customers.
Computer literacy required.
