About the role
We are looking for an IT Product Manager with extensive experience in supporting complex healthcare field and clinical systems (vendor and in-house), healthcare insurance operations and revenue cycle management systems, labor planning and scheduling applications, providing business analysis, configurations, and data analysis.

Candidates applying must have 10+ years of professional experience managing these applications/platforms.

This position will be responsible for leading and maintaining all field and clinical related projects and will work closely with vendor development partners, business power users, technical development team in configuring these systems and defining effective business processes.

This is a hybrid role with a flexible work arrangement out of our Vienna, VA or Raleigh, NC offices.

You Will

  • Responsible for product planning, execution and rollout throughout the Product Lifecycle (Vendor and in-house) for multiple business processes. This includes:
    • Working closely with the functional teams to gather and prioritize product enhancements and requirements
    • Working closely with functional teams to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met
    • Working closely with the vendor support and product engineering teams to ensure defects and support tickets prioritized are closed
    • Working closely with the vendor product engineering teams to ensure enhancements and features requests are delivered, tested and deployed to production
  • Ensure suggestions, ideas, and feature requests are captured as part of the product backlog as well as work with the functional teams to prioritize the backlog for development/implementation
  • Be a gatekeeper, ensure product validation before changes are ready to deploy while ensuring regulatory requirements
  • Support internal product and feature launches
  • Perform testing including functional, regression, user acceptance, integration and performance to verify that the requirements are met.
  • Perform post-production release validation testing on any new improvements or bug fixes
  • Impart training on implemented features/processes/workflows
  • Partner with leadership in managing individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables
  • Manage delivery from vendor teams that are onshore/offshore
  • Be a Single Point Of Contact (SPOC) for IT for internal and external teams
  • Lead, participate, deliver the following services with the help of internal and external teams

 

Build New Integrations to Other Systems

Continue to build new and support existing integrations to other in-house and external applications/systems/platforms

 

New Configuration/Customizations

Customize product to support business processes

Configure product functionality to build and support business processes

 

Support for Mergers & Acquisitions

Enable business growth via mergers and acquisitions by allowing the application and business processes to scale

 

Security & Workflow Support

Add/modify security roles as business security requirements change over time

Add/modify approval workflows as business requirements change over time

 

Support for Company Growth and Employee Population Growth

Lead efforts in influencing vendor product roadmap with innovative ideas

 

About You

  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science  or the equivalent 10+ years of experience
  • Must have 10+ years of experience in healthcare industry
  • Experience in vision healthcare industry is strongly preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in leading and writing functional requirements and working with technical leaders during development/vendor product development phase.
  • 5+ years of experience in leading QA testing and working with cross functional teams and vendor partners.
  • 3+ years of experience running scrum teams. In depth knowledge is agile methodology is mandatory.
  • Experience in healthcare insurance carriers, revenue cycle management and benefit schedules is preferred
  • Experience in healthcare clinical and field applications is preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in collaborating with vendor support and product engineering teams in addressing ticket, defect and enhancement backlog
  • Demonstrated experience in managing vendor relationships
  • Experience in influencing business partners in making use of out-of-the box capabilities and following industry standard business processes.
  • Basic SQL experience querying large data sets from multiple sources.
  • Review existing setup/product configurations and recommend best practices.
  • Work independently with functional teams, vendor product development partners and software development teams in completing prioritized projects/initiatives.
  • Certified Product Owner certificate is strong plus
  • Certified Scrum Master certificate is strong plus
  • Knowledge of Confluence, JIRA, is strong plus
  • Experience in When to Work, Eyefinity products (AcuityLogic/EHR) is a strong plus
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written.
  • Ability to handle shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities. 
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial.
  • Strong leadership profile demonstrated prioritization and negotiation skills.
  • Able to operate effectively in areas of uncertainty, ambiguity, and conflict to focus and deliver against business goals.
  • Track record of taking ownership and driving results at various levels of professional experience.
  • Knowledge of Azure DevOps, CICD and PPM tools
  • Additional Skills & Experience (a plus):
  • Usability, UX and design experience.
  • Resource management and supervision of junior members of staff.
