About the role
The Learning Experience Designer I designs and develops engaging, scalable learning experiences that strengthen employee performance, operational performance, and patient care. You apply foundational instructional-design principles, creative problem-solving, and technical skills to build high-quality learning content. You contribute to all stages of the design process (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) while receiving guidance and feedback from experienced designers. This is an ideal early-career opportunity for someone with some experience, and ready to deepen their instructional-design craft, learn enterprise learning systems, and grow toward independent project ownership. This role will report to the Director, Learning Experience Design.

This is a hybrid remote role, offering a flexible work arrangement out of either our Raleigh, NC or Vienna, VA offices.

 

You Will

  • Develop and edit individual courses or learning assets: eLearning, videos, facilitator and participant guides, and job aids using established templates and brand standards
  • Apply instructional design and user-experience principles to create intuitive, engaging learning experiences
  • Build and test content using tools such as Articulate Storyline, Rise, Canva, vYond. WalkMe or Adobe Captivate
  • Manage learning projects of limited to moderate scope and complexity
  • Collaborate cross-functionally by partnering with SMEs and experienced  designers to translate technical or operational content into learner-friendly and actionable materials
  • Participate in design reviews, brainstorming sessions, and project meetings to learn best practices and contribute ideas to improve templates, standards, processes, and learning approaches
  • Contribute to content version control, template updates, design documentation and organization of learning assets
  • Upload, test, and maintain content in the LMS or other delivery platforms.
  • Execute rollout logistics for new programs, including communication, scheduling, facilitation, and learner support
  • Collect and report basic learner feedback to assess engagement and satisfaction.
  • Stay current on instructional design trends and tools.
  • Seek feedback and professional development opportunities to expand operational, technical and creative capabilities.
  • Deliver measurable, high-quality solutions across modalities

About You

  • 5+ years of experience in instructional design, learning support, or related L&D role. Internship or corporate project experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Communications, or related field; equivalent combination of education and experience considered
  • Familiarity with eLearning authoring tools (Articulate Storyline, Rise, Adobe Captivate, Canva, Vyond, WalkMe) and LMS systems
  • Strong writing and verbal communications, visual design, and editing skills.
  • Excellent organization, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Curiosity and motivation to learn advanced instructional-design practices and performance measurement
