Summary:
This position is responsible for performing disassembly, cleaning, basic inspection, repair, and reassembly of used components or machinery to restore them to operational condition. Work is performed following established procedures and quality standards, with the ability to complete routine assignments independently.
Time Utilization:
Normal business hours are 7:30 am to 4:00pm. Schedule flexibility may be required to meet internal and external customer needs, including occasional overtime. Nominal travel may be involved.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
  1. Perform mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic assembly and installation tasks on machinery and components, using written instructions, drawings, or established examples as reference.
  2. Disassemble machinery, clean parts, and perform detailed visual and basic functional inspections to identify wear, damage, or missing components.
  3. Complete routine repairs and adjustments independently
  4. Reassemble machines to working condition, ensuring alignment, fit, and function according to company standards.
  5. Conduct operational testing on refurbished equipment using provided test procedures; identify and document performance issues for review.
  6. Prepare accurate work documentation including parts used, settings, observations, and quality check results; ensure records are submitted and stored appropriately.
  7. Organize and track materials for assigned projects to support efficient workflow and timely completion.
  8. Assist in verifying parts lists (Bill of Materials) for accuracy and completeness and communicate discrepancies to the supervisor.
  9. Use ERP software to enter work order updates, confirm inventory movements, and record labor hours.
  10. Manage daily tasks to meet assigned deadlines and adjust work sequencing as needed within established priorities.
  11. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area, following all safety protocols and using personal protective equipment.
  12. Support management directives, policies, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  13. Participate in cross-training to develop skills toward more advanced technical assignments.

Education/Experience:
High school diploma and one year of relevant experience in mechanical, electrical, or manufacturing environments preferred, or an equivalent combination of training and demonstrated aptitude.
Skills and Abilities: 
  • Solid mechanical aptitude and ability to work with tools, measuring devices, and shop equipment.
  • Ability to follow technical instructions, read component drawings, and understand assembly diagrams.
  • Capable of working independently on routine tasks, with guidance on complex or unfamiliar work.
  • Strong organization skills to track materials, tasks, and deadlines.
  • Basic math skills, including metric and standard measurements.
  • Proficient in using a personal computer for basic data entry and recordkeeping.
Language Ability:
Ability to read, write and speak English. Ability to communicate in a team environment. Must be able to interpret and discuss general documents such as dimensional machine layouts, component drawings, written procedures and product information. 
Math Ability:
Metric and Standard calculations, basic and advanced measuring techniques, ability to calculate dimensions, percentages, area and volume. Must be able to measure both English and Metric dimensions. Knowledge of resources available to complete these tasks.
Reasoning Ability:
Able to identify common mechanical issues and determine basic corrective actions. Knows when to escalate issues for technical review.
Computer Skills:
Basic familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to use ERP systems for work order processing and inventory tracking.  Manufacturing experience with SAP is a plus.
Certificates and Licenses:
Valid driver’s license required. Ability to obtain a passport may be required for occasional travel.

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock. The associate may be regularly exposed to dirt, grease and cleaning agents.
