Salary : $34.38/hr. - $36.70/hr.

Position/Job Summary:  
The System Administrator plays a key role in supporting and maintaining the agency’s existing infrastructure, in solving IT challenges and moving forward the automation of processes to improve efficiency.  The System Administrator is responsible for provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure.  Also, ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, application systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational procedures, methods.  A successful candidate must be able to perform server deployments, troubleshoot network or firewall issues, support our staff to solve technical issues and manage IT related projects seeing them through to completion.  Must have the ability to learn and maintain knowledge of multiple application areas 
  
Position/Job Duties and Responsibilities:  
  • Field incoming help requests from end users via web-based helpdesk, email, telephone and walk in visits in a courteous and professional manner.  
  • Perform regular file archival and purge as necessary. 
  • Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site. 
  • Create, change, and delete user accounts per request.  
  • Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis and upgrade administrative tools and utilities.  
  • Build rapport and elicit problem details from end users. 
  • Prioritize and schedule incidents.  Escalate incidents (when required) to the appropriate technician or staff. 
  • Access software updates, drivers, knowledge bases, and frequently asked question resources on the Internet and internal knowledge base to aid in problem resolution. 
  • Perform hands-on fixes at the desktop level, including installing and upgrading software, installing hardware, implementing file backups, and configuring systems and applications. 
  • Perform preventive maintenance, including checking and cleaning of servers. 
  • Develop help sheets and frequently asked questions/answers for employees and team members. 
  • Develop an understanding of the unique technology requirements that exist within the organization. 
  • Suggest and advocate technology solutions and enhancements that meet the need of the business. 
  • Monitor and Maintain Software Compliance and Maintenance Agreements. 
  • Manage domain certificates for server compliance. 
  • Ensure security through access controls, backups, and firewalls. 
  • Manage Identity management service through Okta. 
  • Manage IP Security cameras and camera server. 
  • Maintain and manage Microsoft Office365/Microsoft Security & Compliance. 
  • MDM management of cell phones and Macbooks (Cisco Meraki). 
  • May be responsible for supervising staff as part of their role.
  • Participate in the practice and continuing implementation of the Sanctuary Model.  
  • Other duties as assigned to ensure successful operation of department.

Required Position Qualifications: (Minimum qualifications required by the contract/program to be considered for hire into this position) 
  • Bachelor (4-year) degree, with a technical major, such as Computer Science or Engineering. Four years of directly related work experience may be considered in place of a degree. 
  • 5 years’ experience hands-on Desktop Support Analyst/Technician. 
  • Experience providing IT services to multi-location, standardized environment. 
  • System Administration or Systems Engineering certification with Microsoft, Cisco or Linux 
  • Experience with VMWARE technology and deployment 
  • Experience with Microsoft Office365/Exchange Server administration (Cloud and On-Prem) 
Preferred Position Qualifications
  • Bilingual language skills (Spanish) helpful  
Other Requirements:  
  • Able to work shift hours and days, as assigned and to meet internal client needs. Position may require work outside of usual work hours on occasion. 
  • Able to pass a comprehensive criminal history background investigation  
  • Due to the hands-on nature of maintaining systems at multiple sites, must hold a valid drivers’ license and maintain minimum auto insurance policy. Position requires the ability to get to different work locations efficiently throughout the workday and sometimes without prior notice.
