We are looking for a Senior Account Manager to join our Business Events team, representing one of the world’s most iconic destinations and driving meetings, conferences and incentive travel business from the UK and European markets.
This is a client-facing, commercially focused role where you will act as the in-market representative for a globally renowned city destination; building relationships with corporate buyers, agencies and meeting planners to generate new business opportunities.
If you are a strong relationship builder with a proven track record in B2B sales, partnerships or account management, this role offers the opportunity to work at the heart of the global business events industry.
The Role
You will be responsible for developing relationships across the corporate meetings and incentive travel market, generating qualified leads and supporting destinations in converting opportunities into confirmed events.
Working closely with destination partners such as convention bureaux, DMCs, hotels and venues, you will represent our client in market and position them as a preferred location for international meetings and incentive programmes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and executing sales activity to generate meetings and incentive travel opportunities
- Proactively identifying and prospecting new business leads across corporate and agency buyers
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with meeting planners, incentive agencies and event procurement teams
- Managing a pipeline of opportunities and supporting clients through the RFP and bid process
- Representing our destination client through sales calls, presentations, networking events and buyer meetings
- Coordinating and delivering sales missions, industry events, site inspections and familiarisation trips
- Representing our client at key international trade shows such as IMEX and IBTM
- Providing the client with regular reporting, pipeline updates and market insight
- Supporting strategic planning and contributing to new business development
- The role includes regular travel within the UK and internationally to attend industry events, trade shows and client activities
About You
You may come from a business events, travel or destination marketing background or have strong B2B sales or account management experience from related industries.
You will likely bring:
- Experience in B2B sales, partnerships or account management
- A proven ability to build relationships and generate new business opportunities
- Confidence presenting to clients and representing brands in professional settings
- Strong organisational and project management skills
- Experience managing multiple stakeholders and projects simultaneously
- A commercial mindset with the ability to manage pipelines and deliver against targets
Experience within business events, meetings & incentives, tourism, hospitality or travel is advantageous but not essential.
