We have an immediate opening for an Art Director in our Whistler, BC office. Our Art Directors champion best-in-class creative solutions for our clients. As a seasoned member of the creative department, they must artfully balance the doing and directing. We want a confident, creative thinker who is completely comfortable owning their projects from start to finish while mentoring their peers and pushing pixels to perfection. 

 

Responsibilities: 
  • Surprise and impress your Creative Director with innovative thinking and fresh design solutions to solve creative briefs in new and unexpected ways
  • Participate in and contribute to ideation sessions to generate original ideas
  • Coming prepared to fuel discussion and support your teammates
  • Provide strong and succinct written rationale for your work and that of your teams
  • Stay immersed in industry trends and innovation (design, photography, technology, social, advertising)
  • Champion usability, consistency, brand relevance and functionality of the final product
  • Contribute to the development of our creative briefs, ask questions, challenge them
  • Think creatively and strategically within the demands of the client brief and budget
  • Collaborate with Account/Project Managers to build an environment for project success, advising on timelines, internal reviews and other project requirements
  • Facilitate, receive and apply design feedback while striving to improve and elevate the work and team collaboration
  • Deliver multiple design directions to provide thought-provoking options for the Creative Director
  • Always be ready to present and sell your work internally or externally
  • Contribute to Creative Department meetings, initiatives and inspiration

 

Requirements: 
  • Education & Foundation: Post-secondary degree or diploma in design (advertising, interactive, graphic, or multimedia), with strong attention to detail and advanced design theory and problem-solving skills
  • Experience: 3–5 years in a creative environment, including at least 3 years designing for web and digital media
  • Design Expertise: Exceptional typography, layout, and visual communication skills; strong grasp of UX, usability, and accessibility best practices
  • Technical Collaboration: Comfortable communicating with developers; working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and CMS platforms
  • Tools & Software: Proficient in Figma, Canva, CapCut, and advanced in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Creative Eye: Sharp aesthetic sense, with a strong eye for high-quality photography and videography
  • Communication & Teamwork: Excellent written and verbal communicator; confident public speaker; collaborative and respectful team player
  • Digital & Social Fluency: Deep understanding of social media design standards and platform-specific best practices
  • Leadership: Experience managing creative projects or mentoring team members is a plus

 Salary Range for this position 80-105k CAD
