MMGY has an opening for a Social Community Manager in our Overland Park, KS office. This is an opportunity for a motivated individual to join the social media department to assist the social media team with social media monitoring and community management, content writing, execution and reporting for clients in the hospitality, travel and entertainment industries. This person will support strategic social media marketing plans and aid in executing online initiatives.
Duties & Responsibilites
● Develops content for a variety of social channels including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest and X
● Reviews and sources user-generated comments and posts in a quick and timely manner
● Proactively and reactively responds to comments in order to foster a positive community and add value to the user’s experience
● Generates audience conversations and strengthens the social communities for brand channels
● Independently writes and sources imagery for editorial calendars
● Stays up to date on social trends and pop culture moments
● Works alongside social media managers and social content producers to develop editorial calendars
● Ensures work produced meets quality standards
● Aids client relationships at the project level
● Assists in the creation of social media reports on a monthly basis for clients that include an analysis of current social activity and future content recommendations based on trend data
● Ensures adhesion to strategic direction
Key Experience & Skills Needed
We are looking for someone who works well in a collaborative environment and is capable of both revolutionary ideation and rapid execution.
● 1+ years relevant experience (including internships)
● Prior advertising agency experience is preferred
● Travel industry experience or knowledge a plus
● Degree in marketing/communications or similar preferred or equivalent experience
● Recent experience managing social media communities
● Strong written and verbal communication skills
● Understanding of how content is written specifically for social platforms
● Understands all forms of social media interactions
● Knowledge of social media marketing tools
● Experience working within Facebook, X, Pinterest, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn
● Very high attention to detail
● Ability to communicate clearly in the proper social media “voice” and “tone”
● No “task is too small” attitude with the desire to collaborate across teams - from ideation to creation
● Strong project management skills
● A highly organized doer with an exceptional ability to multitask, who will take initiative and execute
● Ability to handle multiple tasks for several clients simultaneously, while maintaining quality of work
