We have an immediate opening for an Account Supervisor in our Detroit, MI, office. The Account Management team serves as the primary point of contact for all agency clients and acts as a conduit of communication between the client and all agency personnel. Therefore, they are ultimately responsible for the quality of all agency output and client satisfaction. An Account Supervisor has an established, thorough understanding of the client’s business that allows them to anticipate the client’s needs and proactively lead the development of strategic, business driving solutions. Internally, the Account Supervisor is responsible for mentoring junior level staff and assigning the day-to-day tasks in support of their career growth.
Duties and responsibilities
General Account Management Responsibilities
- Establish and invest in cross-channel agency relationships
- Have thorough knowledge and understanding of client MSAs, scopes and estimates and resource allocations. Ensure that all parties fulfill their commitments
- Contribute and/or manage financial forecasting responsibilities for client portfolio
- Develop significant project SOWs and provide oversight on the development of estimates for projects assigned to AC/AE
- Stay current on the status of efforts with all internal agency departments and provide direction as needed
- Guide cross-functional teams and external agency partners in all phases of integrated campaign development, including innovation, ideation, consumer research and insights, and creative execution to ensure client marketing goals are met
- Draft strategic POVs to address client problems/concerns
- Develop and monitor progress against AC/AE/SAE growth plans
- Author project and campaign briefs in partnership with Account Planning
- Lead client and internal meetings
- Manage and participate in the execution of client presentations, including the contributions of other channel leads and leading development of client facing meeting decks
- Execute annual performance appraisals for AC/AE/SAE
- Develop client advertising budgets in partnership with clients to ensure that client and agency goals are achieved. Ensure accuracy and identify areas of opportunity for reinvestment or improved returns
- Draft and maintain client backgrounders
- Provide final approval of client billing worksheets/invoices and ensure monthly billing is delivered to clients, either sent from Accounting or AM team member
- Procure payment for all outstanding client invoices in excess of 90 days late
- Update team forecast on a monthly basis with any newly approved SOWs and estimates
- Strategically direct accounts, including leading marketing planning and meetings
- Approve internal time sheets for AC/AE/SAE
- Review actual vs allocated resource data with AD/GAD and look for opportunities to right-size accounts
- Develop client annual planning timelines and clearly communicates requirements and deadlines to the client
- Represent agency and client at industry events
- Embrace team mentality and lead day-to-day efforts of the account team
- Responsible for inspiring and mentoring the junior team
- Understands basic principles of direct marketing, offer targeting and segmentation strategies
- Understands appropriate research techniques for strategy, creative, and media needs
- Expected to learn the client business, prepare client deliverables and become a brand expert and trusted client advisor
- Understand agency portfolio of offerings and how to apply them to solve client business problems
- Merchandise agency work to foster client confidence and inspire other teams internally
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in advertising or a related field
- Thorough knowledge of integrated marketing channels, including media, web, social media, PR, experiential, print, creative and CRM
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing
- Results-oriented, self-motivated, and able to inspire a sense of urgency for self and teammates
- Ability to problem-solve, balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, including leadership roles
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail, reliable and great energy
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google business applications
- Demonstrates a high level of professionalism and respect
- Exhibits discretion with confidential information
