With established offices in Los Angeles and New York City our division develops strategic plans for our clients across consumer marketing, public relations, social media and travel trade engagement.  We represent international tourist offices, such as Australia’s Northern Territory, Rwanda, Madeira, Costa Rica among others. We are looking for a dynamic addition to our team to support the activities for an international tourist board client. Applicants should have consumer marketing and travel trade marketing skills. The candidate must possess 2-3 years marketing and tourism experience. 
  
We are looking for candidates with a creative outlook, who can find, build, and maintain relationships with our destination clients, travel suppliers, airlines and partners to find new and innovative ways to increase visitor numbers via tactical sales and marketing activities. 
 
Responsibilities include: 
  • Handle all administrative aspects for key tourist board accounts including preparation of comprehensive market intelligence reports, weekly and monthly activity reports, brochure shipping, project briefs, media tracking, etc.
  • Planning and management of events and special projects
  • Applicants should have good travel industry trade relations
  • Support with budget management
  • Develop trade relations with tour operators, consortiums, travel agents, wholesalers, airlines and other industry partners
  • Create and implement on and offline trade, consumer, and media partnerships and marketing campaigns
  • Develop campaign reporting with strong focus on conversion metrics
  • Creation and delivery of entertaining and informative presentations
  • Assist in coordination of trade educationals including itinerary development, journalist and trade recruitment and hosting in destination
  • Conduct sales calls and training programs with tour operators and travel agents
  • Assist in developing and implementing annual sales and marketing plans, with strong focus on online outlets and opportunities
  • Work with a team to develop new ideas and concepts for the client
  • Management of timelines and execution of projects
  • Role may involve some domestic and international travel
 
Required Skills:
  • 2-3 years of strong administrative experience in the fields of sales, marketing or event management
  • Experience within the travel / tourism industry is HIGHLY PREFERRED.
  • Knowledge of on and offline marketing outlets for the tourism sector
  • Understanding of campaign metrics and reporting
  • Ability to think strategically about sales and marketing activities
  • Excellent verbal, written and organizational skills
  • Budget management experience
  • Highly organized, independent, and willing to manage multiple projects and administrative functions at one time and on tight deadlines
  • Suitable tertiary qualifications
  • Comfortable working across different time zones as required by client
  • Able to travel domestically and internationally for approximately 15% - 20% of the year 
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally  
Preferred Skills: 
  • Previous experience in the travel industry with understanding of travel distribution channels
  • Experience with marketing international destinations 
  • Experience in integrated sales and marketing campaigns across disciplines

Salary Range for this position: $54,000 - $58,000
