Position Summary
Maintains the safe and efficient operation of a supply and receiving warehouse operation and team in the context of a manufacturing environment and with a focus on Responsible Care®.
Manages inventory to ensure appropriate availability of materials and to preserve the value of all materials. Rationalization of stock as demanded by the need to successfully manage inventory reduction whilst maintaining appropriate levels of inventory to support plant reliability.
Involvement in the development of effective work practices to facilitate the effective operation of the warehouse.
Assists with tactical duties (receiving, stocking, counter, etc.) as needed to maintain overall Warehouse efficiency.
Position Responsibilities
- Serves as acting Warehouse Supervisor in supervisor’s absence.
- Conducts daily toolbox meetings and ensures safety compliance and enhancement.
- Leads all Hazardous / Dangerous Goods and all relevant documentation according to current legislation, Methanex Procedures and the Responsible Care® ethic.
- Supports / Coordinates monthly monitoring and reporting of Warehouse KPIs.
- Works closely with supervisor to ensure all business activities relative to the Warehouse function, whether through internal or external customers, vendors or contractors, are carried out to the highest standards of ethics and transparency.
- Ensures employee and contractor compliance with Methanex policies, procedures and applicable standards.
- Performs inventory analysis at the direction of the Warehouse Supervisor.
- Effectively communicates current activities and policies.
- Assists with maintaining secured warehouses / stockyards at all times.
- Acts as the Key Contact for courier and transport companies interfacing with Methanex.
- Supports supervisor by ensuring all stock and non-stock items are stored according to regulations and best practice.
- Leads Warehouse Turnaround efforts and ensures they are properly planned and executed according to Material Management Strategy.
- Audits material inspections to verify validity of products and employs workflow accuracy.
- Leads the administration of identifying and disposal of surplus or obsolete stock items identified and authorized.
- Processes purchasing receipt and service receipt transactions stock and special-order issues with accuracy and expediency according to current Methanex procedures and work practices.
- Maintains accurate files of all warehouse transaction documentation.
- Provides practical and accurate responses to telephone inquiries when able, escalating when appropriate.
- Participates in progressive inventories on all stock items within a 12-month continuous cycle, ensuring accurate identification of materials and the maintenance of accurate count records. As a minimum, all critical stock to be counted once yearly.
- Identifies stocking errors as found and notifies the Warehouse Supervisor.
- Always maintains warehouse and product security; assists with the supervision of any activity undertaken within the Warehouse environment and ensures all relevant documentation has been completed, (e.g., JSA, Hazard ID, etc.). Supervises any non-warehouse personnel that require access to any warehouse facility.
- Ensures warehouse and external storage areas are tidy and free from potential hazards.
- Performs hazard IDs in line with company policy.
- Aids in relocating and reorganizing of stock as directed by the Warehouse Supervisor.
- Participates in ensuring storage methods for all warehouse items are appropriate according to manufacturer/supplier recommendations, external and internal regulations and best practice.
- Remains conversant with applicable Hazardous / Dangerous Goods legislation and standards.
- Manages Chemical Inventory by regular stock checks, supervises transport companies when delivery is made to the warehouse and ensures compliance with site procedures. Documents any non-compliance. Liaises with Operations staff to provide chemical deliveries site wide in a safe and timely manner.
- Operates specialized vehicles used in warehouse activities including, but not limited to, trucks and forklifts.
- Ensures all pressure retaining inventory is inspected upon receipt and relevant documentation is supplied. Documents any errors.
- Support site O2 SME regarding Warehouse O2 needs.
- Performs inspection tasks as appropriate, which may include, but not be limited to, equipment lubrication checks, use of hand tools, power tools and other routine warehouse activities.
- Manages the daily operation of the tool area to assist maintenance operations.
- Responsible for the issuing and receiving of items from the maintenance tool crib.
- Serves as SME for the site for the CribMaster application.
- Ensures equipment issued from the tool crib is well maintained and condition is suitable for continued use, reporting any defects as identified and arranging for repair or replacement of items as required.
- Ensures compliance with regards to the inspection and testing of all lifting/rigging equipment. Organizes the destruction or repair of any defective equipment as required ensuring equipment is not used until defective equipment has been repaired.

- Networks with other Methanex sites to the mutual benefit of all sites.
- Responsible for ensuring awareness of all controlled documents relating to this position as per Document Awareness Report from Document Management Database.
- Contribute to the ‘operational excellence’ for Methanex USA as an effective member of the Finance Department.
Position Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Forklift operator’s license desired.
- 5 years experience in Warehouse operations preferred.
- Excellent knowledge of Warehouse procedures and computerized stores systems.
- Above average computer literacy particularly with Microsoft Word, Excel and Computer Maintenance Management Systems.
- Thorough understanding of stock management principals, processes and systems.
- Leadership in safety and safety awareness in the workplace, particularly in the context of a warehousing operation.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills; a team player.
- Good organizing and planning skills.
