Position Summary

The Commercial Analyst is responsible for supporting the commercial function and working with the Account Managers for the development of high quality value proposal and reporting. The incumbent will have direct interaction with customers on market related topics, and can potentially take responsibility for the commercial day to day of minor accounts.
The Commercial Analyst role will require adaptability to manage diverse projects within and among different timeframes.

Position Responsibilities

• Contribute to the sales strategy by providing commercial support for the development of offers and through ad-hoc analysis supporting preparation of value proposals
• Support the Americas Sales & Marketing function in the execution of the Regional Strategic Session and Plan
• Act as first point of contact for customers <10kt on commercial matters, including pricing communication, forecasts follow up. Support Account Manager for re-negotiation of these accounts.
• Manage external sales inquiries
• Potentially take responsibility for smaller accounts
• Provide support to entire Sales team to ensure efficiency of business related processes
• Support Commercial team with preparation of pre-read for GMLT, global meetings and commercial budget process
• Ensures all related databases and dashboards are kept up to date, with continuous optimization mindset, such as netback, etc
• Lead sales forecast process
• Contributes to the organizational vision of Global Methanol Leadership and “one-team”. As a team member demonstrates the core values of integrity, trust, respect and professionalism.
• Demonstrated through feedback from team and leaders.
• Undertakes all aspects of the role through living the Methanex values.
• Conducts all business in a manner which supports the Responsible Care® ethic.
• Reports to Commercial Director and provides support to the sales teams
• Providing market updates, understanding derivative markets and their impact to Methanol

Position Qualifications

Experience and Skills
· University degree and 5 years’ experience.
· Marketing, analytical or customer focused experience, preferably in chemical / commodities related industry is an asset.
