Position Status: Full-time, Regular, Exempt
Salary:  
  • US Starting Salary for this role will be USD $64,000 - $76,000 commensurate on experience.  

  • Based on local benchmark for candidates outside the United States.

The Team
The People Experience Center of Excellence (COE), within the People Team, supports a positive and meaningful experience for each team member, in alignment with Mercy Corps’ mission and strategic priorities. The Position
As an Advisor for Talent Acquisition, you will be integral in improving recruitment processes, systems, and analytics within the People Experience COE. This role will focus on enhancing the efficiency, consistency, and compliance of recruitment practices across Mercy Corps globally. You will work closely with global and regional teams to implement scalable, business-appropriate processes, ensuring they are agile to meet the needs of local labor laws and organizational goals. Additionally, you will drive the development of accurate, relevant talent analytics that inform strategic decision-making.
 
Project Management for Talent Initiatives
  • Lead Talent Acquisition initiatives focused on process improvement, system efficiency, and data-driven practices.

  • Ensure all recruitment processes are compliant with privacy and data protection standards in all regions.

  • Manage and update the Hiring Hub SharePoint site, maintaining it as a globally accessible resource.

  • Collaborate with regional and global stakeholders to align talent initiatives with broader organizational goals.

  • Track, monitor, and report on the progress and impact of recruitment projects, optimizing processes where needed.

 Talent Analytics & Reporting
  • Partner with the People Systems & Analytics team to report on Organizational Performance Indicators (OPIs) related to recruitment.

  • Act as a key partner with the Evidence and Learning team, bridging talent analytics with organizational indicators for comprehensive insights.

  • Develop and manage global talent analytics initiatives to evaluate recruitment effectiveness and support data-driven improvements.

  • Provide advisory support to global and country TA teams on analytics and reporting needs, troubleshooting and guiding data use for decision-making.

Continuous Improvement
  • Gather feedback across regions to identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities to streamline recruitment processes.

  • Serve as the primary contact for talent systems, working with People Systems & Analytics and IT to resolve issues and optimize system use.

  • Proactively recommend and implement improvements to ensure consistent, efficient, and compliant recruitment practices across all regions.

  • Lead the development and update of documentation and policies related to recruitment processes, ensuring resources are inclusive, equitable, and aligned with Mercy Corps' values.

Inclusion and Values Integration: 
  • Infuse Mercy Corps’ values into all talent acquisition tools and processes.

  • Apply an inclusion lens to ensure that resources and practices are equitable and accessible across all regions.

Safeguarding Responsibilities: 
  • Actively incorporate safeguarding into recruitment processes, identifying and mitigating risks.

  • Uphold Mercy Corps’ values by respecting the dignity and well-being of team members and participants.

  • Foster open communication within the team and promote the use of reporting mechanisms for any concerns.

Supervisory Responsibility
The Advisor for Talent Acquisition has no supervisory responsibilities.
 
Accountability
Reports Directly To: People Experience Manager, Talent Acquisition
Works Directly With: Multiple team members across People Experience COE, Regional Talent Acquisition Managers, HRDs, HRBPs, Country Teams, and global stakeholders.
Accountability to Participants and Stakeholders
Mercy Corps team members are expected to support all efforts toward accountability, specifically to our program participants, community partners, other stakeholders, and to international standards guiding international relief and development work. Minimum Qualifications & Transferable Skills
  • 4+ years of experience in talent management or HR, with a strong background in project management and cross-departmental initiatives.

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, social sciences, or equivalent professional experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage recruitment processes in a high-volume, complex, and multicultural global environment.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities based on organizational needs.

  • Proficiency in communication, influence, and problem-solving across diverse cultures and geographical distances with cultural sensitivity.

  • Proficiency in SharePoint, MS Office, Applicant Tracking Systems, and project management tools is a plus.

  • Effective problem-solving skills to identify and resolve process inefficiencies, recommending improvements tailored to regional nuances.

  • Proficiency in English (spoken, written, and reading) is required. Fluency in an additional language, such as French, Spanish, or Arabic, is a plus.

Living Conditions / Environmental Conditions
This position is open to any Mercy Corps office location, with flexibility to work or be available during UK or US Eastern (EST) time zones. The role allows for remote work and may require up to 10% travel annually. 
Mercy Corps team members represent the agency both during and outside work hours when deployed in a field posting or on a business trip to a field posting. Team members are expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner and respect local laws, customs and Mercy Corps's policies, procedures, and values at all times and in all in-country venues.
