What We’re Looking For:
We are looking for a talented accountant to join our fast-growing team based in Amsterdam! As a key member of the Global Accounting team, you will report to the Global General Accounting Manager. You will be responsible for the management of general accounting transactions, with a focus on prepaid assets and accruals. You will work with a large range of stakeholders across the Company (AP, FP&A, Tax and Technical Accounting, to name a few), and therefore building strong relationships will be critical to your success.
What You'll Do:
- Manage the global general accounting activities, which includes accounting and related financial controls, with a focus on accruals and prepaids for cost of sales and operating expenses;
- Prepare and post journal entries with supporting documentation, in accordance with company policies.
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly close processes and deliverables for the related areas, including balance sheet reconciliations, GL analysis, and execution of internal controls;
- Contribute to identifying and implementing improvements and efficiencies which can streamline the close process and/or reduce risks, such as the implementation of automated solutions, and improved systems & tools;
- Contribute to enterprise-level initiatives relating to the related business processes, including tax & legal entity optimization, enhancements to the company’s internal controls over financial reporting, and ERP implementations/enhancements;
- Responsible for group and statutory audit requests for the owned areas;
- Research, analyze, and effectively communicate accounting issues and escalate across the organization.
What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 2-3+ years’ work experience in accounting, preferably in a similar position.
- Use to work with ERP Systems (NetSuite is a strong plus)
- Proven ability to collaborate across geographies and work in a fast-paced, cross-functional and cross-cultural environment
- Proactive self-starter who operates with a strong sense of ownership with the ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision
- Excellent oral and written English communication skills with a high degree of attention to detail are essential, as is an ability to explain complex issues in an understandable way.
