What You'll Do:
Client and Project Management
- Strengthen Meltwater’s expertise in media insights analysis and consulting by working closely with our analysts and vendors on a portfolio of 15-20 Insights Services projects.
- Maintain all project costs and margins at a healthy level by ensuring project discipline, adequate documentation and data hygiene.
- Present insights and lead discussions with clients confidently, and build trusted relationships with key client stakeholders at all levels.
- Ensure that all projects remain well aligned with client objectives throughout the project lifecycle. This requires close collaboration with the analysts and Client Success Teams to understand and address client needs and concerns as they arise.
- Lead on initial project onboarding. This can involve representing Insights Services at project kick-off meetings, assisting in report template/dashboard generation and supporting query building.
- Work with the analyst managers to ensure appropriate and adequate allocation of analysts to projects under your purview.
Strategic Projects
- Assist the Team to develop strong knowledge of Insights methodologies to enable business growth. This can include developing new innovative methods, bringing to bear past experience or engaging existing industry networks.
- Build and manage a network of vendors, freelancers and partners in Japan that can value-add the Japan Insights business.
- Work closely with the analysts to ensure all SOPs and report archives are streamlined and up-to-date.
- Contribute to scoping net new reporting projects, when required.
- Support all other strategic projects as assigned.
- Support the implementation of all Insights organisational initiatives and reporting needs as required.
- Ability to independently drive project transformation from legacy Power BI dashboards by developing feasible, cost effective alternatives is a plus.
Renewal and Churn Risk Mitigation
- Develop strategies to improve report quality based on client feedback and enhance client “stickiness” in collaboration with cross-functional partners.
- Develop a deep understanding of client needs and effectively articulate the value of Insights products to enable project renewal and growth.
- Support the analyst managers to scope and cost projects accurately to ensure healthy margins, and bring added value to Meltwater’s clients.
What You'll Bring:
- 3-5 years of work experience. Experience in consulting, media insights and project management in the tech industry is preferred. Experience in the luxury, automobile and appliances industry of Japan or in the Japanese government would also be highly advantageous.
- In the absence of direct project management or consulting experience, relevant work experience that demonstrates the key project management competencies (e.g. leadership, communication, risk management, stakeholder management) is required. Qualifications in project management are not necessary.
- Strong interest and curiosity about current affairs, news media, and social media is necessary.
- Proficiency in Microsoft and Google Suite including PivotTable, VLOOKUP, and similar functions. Specific knowledge of project management software (e.g. Asana) or methodologies (e.g. PMP) is not required. Knowledge of PowerBI or Python is a plus.
- Good understanding of media research methodologies, particularly qualitative analysis and media measurement KPIs.
- Strong client-facing skills.
- Fluent business-level proficiency in English and Japanese.
- Willingness to embrace the best of both worlds with our hybrid work schedule. This role requires you to be in the office 3 days a week.
- The ability to legally work in the country of hire is required for this position.
