What you’ll do
- Assist the Manager of Events + Experiences in organizing all Wellen Park events and activities, in downtown Wellen Park or other locations within the master-planned community
- Provide support on all event related experiences and rental facilities, including site/room set-up/breakdown
- Responsible for creating client relationships, manage the contractual booking process, handle payments and security deposits for events, participate in the physical event set-up, and ensure the policies and requirements are being followed regarding the site
- Manage third-party vendors for contracted events, including catering (food and beverage): inspect facilities post event, release security deposit refund and work alongside facilities/maintenance on necessary repairs
- Assist with the recruitment and coordination of volunteers and other to assist with community events
- Manage the vetting process for any new preferred vendors and maintain vendor lists and assist guests in sharing the preferred vendors (Caters, wedding coordinators, florist, photographers, DJ, transportation, lodging, etc.)
- Ensure all licenses are up to date
- Maintain and update marketing calendar with activities and events, add events to Wellen Park website and assist with other communications as needed

What you bring
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, marketing, or related field is highly preferred
- Minimum of 2+ years of related work experience as an Events Coordinator
- Must possess a degree of skill in logistics to properly plan the details and anticipate potential problems that may arise
- Outstanding interpersonal, office management and communication skills, as well as a self-starter, multi-tasker with a warm, energetic, and positive attitude
- Ability to work independently and be self-driven, with ability to identify, plan and prioritize business opportunities
- Physical Requirements/Working Environment: This position requires the physical set-up of events, included but not limited to tables, chair, signage, small pop-up tents
- Must have the ability to lift to 50 lbs. and the position will involve standing, sitting, walking, carrying, and occasional climbing
