What we offer
Reporting to the Director, Taxation & Legal Entities, the Senior Tax Analyst will be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies with respect to GST/HST/VAT with a high degree of accuracy and on a timely basis, in addition to ensuring fund securities tax transactions are tracked to accurately report in tax filings.
What you’ll do
- Management of robotic process automation for filing GST/HST returns
- Reconciliation of GST/HST accounts with CRA records
- Respond to GST/HST/VAT audit queries from governing bodies in all jurisdictions
- Provide tax analysis on various types of security transactions including large redemptions, portfolio rebalancing, fund mergers, terminations, etc. and assess tax implications for investors resulting from these transactions
- Reconcile security transactions to capital statements and annual tax information
- Communicate and liaison with external partners concerning tax information
- Liaison with Regional and National finance team members
- Participate in special projects to support Regional and National management as required.
- Other related duties as assigned
What you bring
- University or College degree in a related field and a minimum of 5 years of work experience in the finance/accounting industry preferred with an emphasis on tax.
- CPA designation or actively pursuing.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels.
- Advanced working knowledge of computer programs, including the Office Suite (Work, Excel, etc.)
- Ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple demands and changing priorities, and deliver results.
- Strong learning agility and ability to manage competing demands.
