What you’ll do
  • Assists with the completion of employee onboarding, I-9 and E-Verify documents and compliance training
  • Ensures that all items needed for bi-weekly payroll processing have been received
  • Completes data entry in HRIS system for new hire paperwork, compensation changes, manager updates, promotions, and terminations
  • Audit payroll files to ensure data entry in HRIS system for new hires, compensation changes and manager updates are entered correctly
  • Initiates terminations in Dayforce and adds payroll reporting notes for the appropriate weeks
  • Manage the US Payroll Inbox, addressing employee questions regarding payroll policies and procedures
  • Review, track, and audit employee timesheets to ensure timely and accurate processing within deadlines
  • Communicate any timesheet discrepancies with managers and employees and advise the payroll team of any corrections and adjustments within a timely manner
  • Communicate with employees and managers regarding payroll issues and questions as required
  • Provides training to all employees and managers on payroll issues and practices. (i.e., timesheets, time off requests)
  • Send monthly and biweekly reports to division personnel as needed (i.e., overtime reports) and resolve any issues that come up as a result of these notices
  • Administer US payroll, audit payroll notes and coordinate; lead meetings with payroll team to discuss compensation changes, promotions, bonuses, terminations, leaves, and all special circumstances to ensure employees’ pay is processed correctly
  • Prepare and review all payroll reports (pre, mid, and post-commit), time off requests, and unauthorized hours report for appropriate payroll week
  • Provide responses to employment verifications and unemployment filings based on system data
  • Provides back-up support to Total Rewards Manager and HR team
  • Audits retirement contribution plans changes, addition, and termination of retirement benefits and maintain and review audit reports at least every two months to confirm accuracy
  • Process benefits changes, QLEs, and benefits terminations received from benefits department in the appropriate pay period
  • Coordinates qualifying life event benefit deduction changes with payroll team
  • Responsible for processing all Quick Entries (i.e., Tuition Reimbursement, EHOP, referral and sign-up bonuses)
  • Conducts periodic/scheduled audits for all active-term employees, salary changes and promotions to make sure they are all under the right department, and job code
  • Submit garnishments to Dayforce Managed Services team
  • Willing to learn and be able to spend time on HRIS and systems issues
  • Assist in other HR areas when requested including ownership of tasks and projects
  • Perform other related duties as needed and as assigned
What you bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or other related field preferred, or equivalent experience required
  • Payroll Certification is preferred; HR certification (PHR or SHRM-CP is strongly desired)
  • Experience with Dayforce is required
  • Benefits administration experience (LOAs, arrears, life events) is strongly desired
  • Thorough understanding of federal laws concerning payroll as well as state law in FL, NC, TX, OH, and AZ.
  • 2-3 years of experience in Human Resources, payroll laws
  • Exceptional computer skills including advanced knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Understanding of data feeds and uploads
  • Superior organization and project management skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information and issues with tact and diplomacy
  • Ability to maintain an organized system of tracking, monitoring, and prioritizing tasks and projects
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments and proactively anticipate needs
  • Adaptive with a proven ability to multi-task; flexible and able to work in a fast-paced environment of competing demands and changing priorities
  • Detail oriented with ability to proof documents for accuracy and communicate detailed changes
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Maintain a professional, and polished demeanor
  • Enthusiastic and friendly, with a demonstrated client-service orientation
  • Strong problem-solving orientation and analytical skills 

Physical Requirements

  • This job operates in a professional office environment.
  • This is a 100% in-office role -- must be able to work in the office Monday-Friday. Overtime may need needed to ensure completion of tasks.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position at least 50%
  • This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required which would require the ability to move files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand, as necessary.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards.
