Social Media Program Coordinator (NYC area)
Description
This role is remote, but you must be based within traveling distance to New York City for occasional on-site meetings with the client.
This role is partnered with a client who is all about community and moving fast. As our partner and Social Media Specialist & Program Coordinator, you will be the heartbeat of our daily social presence. You are a true social native - you speak fluent internet, you know a trend before it trends, and you understand the unique dynamics of marketing a B2C mobile app.
In this role, you will blend creative intuition with operational rigor. You will manage the "ground game" of their social ecosystem while acting as our internal explorer for AI and innovation. You aren't just posting content; you are helping us drive app usage and brand love through culture-centric storytelling and smart, AI-enhanced processes.
Responsibilities
- Social Native Execution: Manage the daily publishing schedule across our entire social footprint. Ensure content feels native to each environment - understanding that tone, format, and engagement rules differ vastly between platforms.
- B2C App Storytelling: Translate product updates and app features into engaging social content. You understand the B2C funnel and how to drive users from engaging with a post to opening the app.
- AI Implementation & Innovation: Act as the main AI explorer. Proactively test and implement Generative AI tools to streamline workflows, resize assets, and automate community sentiment analysis.
- Vendor Coordination: Act as the day-to-day liaison for external agencies and creators. Traffic assets, organize feedback, and ensure vendors are delivering work that aligns with real-time cultural trends.
- Trend Spotting: Be the eyes and ears of the brand. Identify emerging audio, visual, and meme trends immediately and work with the team to jump on them while they are still relevant.
- Performance Tracking: Compile weekly reports. Use AI analytics tools to dig into data, linking social engagement metrics to broader app awareness goals.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 2–4 years of experience in social media marketing, specifically for B2C brands or mobile apps.
- "Social Native" Fluency: You have a deep, intuitive understanding of internet culture, memes, and platform-specific nuances (e.g., understanding how algorithm prioritization differs across major video and text platforms).
- Demonstrated interest in Artificial Intelligence and experience using GenAI tools in a professional context.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working specifically within the mobile app ecosystem (understanding concepts like DAU, app store links, and feature adoption).
- Experience creating prompts ("Prompt Engineering") to get high-quality outputs from AI tools.
- A natural storyteller who can tone-switch effortlessly between fun consumer content and helpful product education.
- Basic content creation skills (short-form video editing and basic graphic design) are a big plus.
