Accounting Intern
Description
Position Summary:
To support the recording of the financial position of the credit union in an accurate and timely manner, and to provide support for the Accounting department in a professional manner.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare general ledger daily journal entries.
- Import daily journal entries into core accounting system.
- Prepare daily and monthly reconciliations.
- Assist accounting team members with the monthly sales tax audit.
- Assist in completing occasional administrative duties, including maintaining data within accounting systems.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Attention to detail: Accuracy, thoroughness, and timeliness.
- Ability to learn and utilize Accounting systems to accurately document financial transactions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Education and Experience:
- Pursuing an Accounting degree with two years of schooling completed, to include introductory classes for Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting and Statistics.
Physical Requirements (with or without accommodation):
- Long periods of sitting will occur regularly.
- Occasional lifting and/or moving 15 lbs or less.
- Use of a computer and telephone required.
- Occasional bending, stooping, or crouching may be required.
