The Quality Specialist is responsible for driving the progress of robust process improvement throughout the organization. This position will focus on accreditation. They will plan, coordinate and monitor compliance with national standards.  LMH Health has multiple accreditations through The Joint Commission and the American College of Surgeons. You will partner with leaders throughout the system to manage accreditation activities necessary for maintaining accreditations.  You will assist with ensuring full compliance with accreditation/regulatory policies and standards, develop continuous process improvement strategies to address any performance gaps, and streamline workflows across respective accreditation/regulatory program activities.

Works collaboratively with key stakeholders including process owners, organization leaders and physicians, which includes developing, implementing and maintaining quality and performance initiatives.

The position is responsible for continuous collaborative learning, including (but not limited to): identifying and supporting performance improvement projects and activities throughout the organization through education, planning and project oversight.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitator of one or more disease-specific and patient safety team.
  • Primary responsibility for quality measures and analysis of data.
  • Supports the Chair to drive the success of establishing and/or maintaining certification through The Joint Commission (TJC).
  • Attain and maintain knowledge of The Joint Commission disease-specific standards and elements of performance.
  • Knowledgeable of the CMS quality measures (human and electronic).
  • Knowledge of the abstracted CMS quality measures for the Inpatient Quality Reporting (IQR) program, Outpatient Quality Reporting (OQR) program, and meaningful use.
  • Data interrater reliability and analysis of outliers (potential and actual).
  • Analyze data and provide recommendations for performance improvement projects or actions.
  • Facilitate performance improvement projects.
  • Actively engages in the culture of quality, safety and high reliability training philosophies for teams to accomplish goals.
  • Participates in all educational opportunities identified as important to this position.
  • Performs other duties as needed or assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Clinical practice and current applicable licensure (ex. RN, med tech, etc.)
  • Minimum 3 years of clinical experience
  • Advanced interpersonal skills including clear and effective communication (both written and verbal) with diverse audiences, strong listening skills and the ability to problem solve and make informed decisions.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Master’s degree
  • Yellow Belt in Lean Six Sigma
  • 1 -2 Experience in process improvement and Lean Six Sigma
