We’re looking for you.

The Director of Emergency Services leads and directs services, workflow and resources for assigned nursing area with the accordance of the Mission, Vision and Values of LMH. Understands and ensures compliance with Standards of Nursing Practice.  Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop departmental goals and objectives consistent with medical and administrative, legal and ethical requirements of the health care delivery system.
  • Directs clinical activities, including patient assessment, care plan development, service level determination, patient visits, and complaint management.
    Plans, organizes and directs all activities related to staffing, hiring, orienting, evaluating and continuing education initiatives.
  • Prepares and monitors budget(s) and ensures that assigned nursing area operates within allocated funds.
  • Coordinates and directs internal and externally-driven audits.
    Manages resources to support quality patient care, service and patient safety.  Supports measurement of nursing intensity/patient acuity to allocate resources appropriately to ensure quality of care and as needed implementation of process improvement initiatives.
  • Supports the professional practice model and shared governance structure.
    Collaborates effectively with organizational stakeholders.
  • Drives departmental technology implementation and use.
  • Collaborates on development of nursing and operating strategic plans aligning with all overarching strategic plans.
  • Ensures use of evidence based practice and research to guide clinical and managerial decision-making.
  • Ensures development and is aligned with organization and department specific programs to measure, analyze, and improve nursing care quality.


Qualifications

Required:

  • Required: 
  • Seven (7) years of nursing experience, to include five (5) years of leadership experience, with a minimum of three (3) years of that leadership experience in departmental management
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
  • Master’s degree in Nursing (or in progress)
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) License to practice in the state of Kansas, or must be obtained prior to hire or job transfer date
  • BLS certification

 

Preferred:

  • Nursing
  • Three (3) to Five (5) years of Critical Care nursing or Emergency services
  • Two (2) or more years of Director level experience
  • ACLS certification
