Description

Clinical Transition Specialist functions as the primary support system to clinical staff by provided education and support to newly hired clinical staff.


ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Coordinate a clinical residency program that will support the needs of newly graduated clinical staff.

2. Contributes to a positive learning environment by sharing knowledge and skills with peers, students, healthcare consumers, and providers.

3. Collaborates with departments to design a program that meets the changing needs of the clinical departments.

4. Assess the clinical residency program through personal reflection and solicited feedback from learners, peers, and supervisors and establish goals based on feedback.

5. Trains and supports preceptors with knowledge and tools needed to support peers.

6. Teaches through simulation and other active learning styles so that participants are developing competency throughout the residency program.

7. Provide support for newly graduated clinical staff from day 1 through their completion of the residency program.

8. Assume a leadership role by providing guidance and knowledge to facilitate growth in others.

9. Demonstrate knowledge of educational tools (i.e. computer, audiovisual equipment, simulators etc.) and a variety of age-specific teaching and learning principles and skills.

10. Identifies personal learning needs and acquires knowledge to ensure competency.

11. Able to prioritize and handle multiple projects, work independently and under deadline pressure.

12. Performs other duties as needed or assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Registered Nurse
  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Education Emphasis or Registered Nurse with teaching experience

           

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree
