The responsibility of the MRI Supervisor includes empathetic and instructional approach to patient care, the preparation, operation of imaging, collection data using computers, necessary imaging devices and care of instrumentation, patient physical safety and MRI safety. The MRI Supervisor assists with staff competency and orientation. Administrative duties including scheduling, coordinating resources to insure workflow, maintenance of time records, QA/PI projects and other duties as assigned.  The supervisor must adhere to State Licensure/ARRT scope of practice and medical staff approved protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Assess the quality of patient care provided via a variety of avenues, the efficiency of the MRI department as well as the trends in health care and the impact of these trends on LMH and the surrounding community.
  • Utilizes quality improvement processes in problem solving, decision making and developing new and extended programs.
  • Collaborates with colleagues, LMH leadership staff, administration, physicians, peers and members of the community to implement appropriate processes to maintain a full scope of service to address the needs of our customers and the area served by LMH MRI.
  • Assists with planning for the future in MRI through strategic planning, budgeting and goals.
  • Collaborates with MRI staff to assist where needed and to assist in adjusting staffing to meet the demands of the department.
  • Conducts departmental meetings for communication, discussing concerns, addressing staff needs and future planning.
  • Coaches staff on a continuing basis, providing constructive feedback for professional growth.
  • Conducts at least annually the performance growth plan and/or evaluation of the MRI staff. Reviews staff competencies to ensure needs and requirements are achieved.
  • Supports the mission of Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all customers.
  • Responsible for staff scheduling and KRONOS timesheet approval.
  • Comply with job responsibilities as listed in MRI technologist job description.
  • Performs care according to the population served on the unit as referenced in the Administrative, Scope of Services Policy.
  • Performs other duties as needed or assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Must have and maintain ARRT RT (R) (MR).
  • Minimum 5 years imaging experience with at least 3 years MRI experience.
  • Maintain BLS.
