The Benefits Administrator is responsible for assisting in planning, analysis, administration, and execution of the LMH employee benefit and wellness programs in alignment with the goals of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Assists with the administration and maintenance of various benefit programs which include; medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, FSA accounts, defined contribution, and defined benefit plans.
- Administers FMLA and Disability programs. Acts as subject matter expert for all leave of absences and FMLA claims and inquiries.
- Serves as primary contact for various benefit issues such as coverage, enrollment eligibility, family status changes, claims, and other benefit matters.
- Audits records and benefits eligibility periodically as needed.
- Assists with annual open enrollment.
- Assists with the development and implementation of communications and/education programs to enhance member knowledge, appreciation, and effective use of benefits.
- Builds and maintains relationships with insurance carriers, consultants, actuaries, brokers, record keepers, and third-party administrators.
- Audits and processes monthly vendor billing.
- Documents and maintains administrative procedures for assigned benefit processes.
- Maintains an understanding all applicable government laws and regulations at the federal, state and local levels, which impact employee benefits.
- Participates in benefits surveys.
- Communicates benefits and compensation policies, guidelines, and procedures.
- Prepares reports on benefits and compensation related issues.
- Responds promptly to employee inquiries via email, phone, etc.
- Performs other duties as needed or assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
- Requires a minimum of three (3) years of experience in benefits.
- Strong organization and attention to detail skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deliverables at once and prioritizes workload.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in HR field.
- Prior experience within a healthcare environment.
- SHRM-CP, CBP, CCP, PHR, SPHR, or CEBS certification.
