JOB SUMMARY

The Spiritual Care Manager provides spiritual support, counseling and guidance to all patients, staff or community members who desire on an emergent, or routine, basis. The Spiritual Care Manager serves as a spiritual and educational resource and a positive communication liaison between the hospital and the spiritual leaders of Lawrence, and their particular religious communities.

 

  1. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  2. Provides pastoral/spiritual counseling and care of patients, their families, and staff and community members.
  3. Coordinates 24/7 chaplain coverage for the hospital.
  4. Participates and leads standing committees, including community-based groups.
  5. Coordinates and provides spiritual support and religious services throughout the LMH continuum of care.
  6. Acts as liaison between hospital and local clergy.
  7. Continues required education and training, including 50 hours of APC required CEUs.
  8. All other duties as assigned.

 

  • JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Master of Divinity degree from an accredited theological seminary
  • Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) Residency (4 units) in an accredited ACPE Center
  • Ordination to Ministry
  • Ecclesiastical Endorsement
  • Board Certification Chaplain Inc. (or in process of meeting a state committee) with Association of Professional Chaplains (APC)
  • A minimum of three (3) years chaplaincy ministry experience
