The Patient Access Team Lead is responsible for providing feedback on daily registration processes and staffing issues to the Patient Access Supervisor or Patient Access Director. Provides assistance to staff level employees as necessary to ensure compliance with department policies and procedures. Assists leadership with staffing, reports, and QA process.

Responsibilities

a. Promote and demonstrate excellent customer service.
b. Assist Education Supervisor in educating registration staff of any changes in registration procedures.
c. Assist Supervisors in overseeing daily registration activities to ensure department standards are met.
d. Perform all functions necessary to accomplish the admission/registration of patients including insurance verification, financial assessments, and collections.
e. Maintain cross training in all hospital admissions areas and covers any area as needed during their shift.
f. In the absence of Supervisor, will serve as a point of primary contact for patient complaints/customer issues; and will work with Management as needed for resolution.
g. Works assigned reports to identify opportunities for improvement to ensure a seamless patient experience and maximum reimbursement for service.
h. Monitors new hire trainees by auditing registration for accuracy and reports findings to Supervisor.
i. Demonstrates success in POS Collections and quality assurance, will maintain a 99% or higher in the registration quality software.
j. Takes part in the On-Call Rotation.
k. Other duties assigned.

Qualifications

Preferred:

-         High school diploma or equivalent.

-         Two years prior healthcare setting work experience.
