We’re looking for you.

The House Supervisor guides services, workflow and resources for the clinical departments in collaboration with department directors and senior leadership in accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values of LMH.  Understands and ensures compliance with Standards of Nursing Practice.  Performs other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Directs clinical activities, including patient assessment, care plan development, service level determination, patient visits, and complaint management.
  • Plans and organizes staffing assignments to best accommodate patient acuity and needs.
  • Evaluates patient care needs and allocates resources directly or indirectly.
  • Manages resources to support quality patient care, service and patient safety.  Supports measurement of nursing intensity/patient acuity to allocate resources appropriately to ensure quality of care and as needed implementation of process improvement initiatives.
  • Supports the professional practice model and shared governance structure.
  • Collaborates effectively with organizational stakeholders.
  • Supports technology implementation and use. Assists physicians and staff with documentation in the EMR.
  • Collaborates on development of nursing and operating strategic plans aligning with all overarching strategic plans.
  • Ensures use of evidence based practice and research to guide clinical decision-making.
  • Rounds on patients and staff during shift. Will do service recovery when director of unit is not present. Is a liaison between staff and physicians if needed.
  • Attends all Met call, Code blue and other emergency codes
  • Facilitates the coordination and use of call staff when needed for the OR, cath lab, and ancillary departments.
  • Assists with emergency procedures as need
  • Mentors novice staff on nursing units.
  • Serves as a resource to staff on policy and procedures.
  • Media spokesperson after hours
  • Assists with staff with risk management concerns after hours including helping complete a RL.
  • Assists with social work needs for patients after hours.
  • Communicates with administrator when needed after hours
  • Will act as Incident Commander until administration arrives.
  • Performs other duties as needed or assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) License in the state of Kansas
  • BLS certification
  • ACLS certification (will train upon hire)
  • Five (5) years of nursing experience

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
  • Nursing Certification in related specialty
  • Two (2) or more years of Supervisory level experience
