The Speech & Language Pathologist assumes responsibility and accountability for a designated groups of patients and provides speech therapy evaluations, modalities, and treatments in accordance with established hospital and departmental policy and procedures, maintaining the highest degree of quality patient care.
Responsibilities
- Performs patient assessment and establishes a plan of care.
- Assess the effectiveness of treatment and modifies treatment to achieve goals.
- Provides care in accordance with physician’s orders and established plan of care.
- Assess educational needs of the patient, family, caregiver, or significant others and provides education to meet those needs.
- Communicates honestly with others and discusses issues and resolves problems as soon as they arise.
- Willingly assumes additional responsibilities to support team efforts.
- Actively participates in continuous performance improvement processes.
- Willingly embraces changes that will improve customer focused care.
Qualifications
Required:
- Master’s Degree in Speech and Language Pathology from accredited program.
- Current license through Kansas Department of Health and Environment.
- Certificate of Clinical Competency through the American Speech-Language Hearing Association.
- BLS Certificate.
