We’re looking for you.

A Pharmacy Intern I is a student in good standing who has been admitted into the School of Pharmacy. This is a developmental position designed to progress over time into the Pharmacy Intern II position. The interns at LMH Health support pharmacists with the timely, accurate preparation, and distribution of medications while meeting regulatory requirements and providing high quality patient care.

Responsibilities

  • The pharmacy intern will be responsible for learning all areas of pharmacy inpatient and/or outpatient services.  
  • Core responsibilities include but are not limited to:
    • Assist pharmacist with a variety of duties to ensure the health and safety of our patients (answering phones, data entry, communications as appropriate for skills level).
    • Maintain inventory according to system procedures.
    • Ensure accurate and timely delivery of medications.
    • Prepare, package, or store medications per manufacturer regulations.
    • Follow all regulatory and institutional standards and laws.
    • As the intern progresses through the pharmacy curriculum, counseling and other direct patient care responsibilities will be incorporated. 

 

Inpatient

  • All core responsibilities.
  • Maintain pharmacy inventory according to department quick reference guides.
  • Prepare sterile intravenous compounds and maintain clean room according to regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain assigned inspection area according to The Joint Commission regulations.

 

HSP

  • All core responsibilities.
  • Data entry, financial transactions, and recordkeeping.
  • Accurate and efficient workflow management to include filling and labeling.
  • Meds to beds enrollment and delivery.
  • Other duties as assigned with the growth of the program.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Admission to a qualified School of Pharmacy.
