Overview

Our Finance team is seeking an accounting professional who is familiar with a variety of accounting concepts, business practices, and procedures. We seek an individual who embraces challenges and can rely on his/her experience, educational background and sound judgment to plan and accomplish goals. 

The General Ledger Analyst, India Finance Operations, will be responsible for supporting our US Accounting & Consolidation team, and assisting with the establishment of our new accounting shared-services function in Bangalore, India, which will partner and collaborate with our US Finance & Accounting team. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, strong communicator and thrives in a team environment. We are looking for a candidate who is eager to learn and grow within a fast-paced technology company, to gain exposure to US GAAP accounting principles and internal controls using Oracle Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tools. 

You will

  • Report directly to the Senior Manager, India Accounting Operations, with functional reporting to the Senior Manager, Accounting & Consolidation 
  • Assist with the processing of general accounting transactions including: cash and bank reconciliations, fixed assets, leases, prepayments and accruals 
  • Prepare journal entries as part of the monthly close cycle
  • Assist with preparation of balance sheet accounts reconciliations 
  • Analyze and comment on monthly, quarterly, annual variances within income statement and balance sheet line items
  • Assist in the preparation of documentation in support of our internal control environment for SOX compliance
  • Respond to audit requests in a timely manner
  • Assist with ad hoc Oracle reports and requests from the business

 You will have

  • At least 2-3 years of experience in processing and paying invoices; preferably with a major technology company
  • Bachelor degree in accounting or related field required
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Oracle
  • Good knowledge of Indian tax 
  • Knowledge of ERP general ledger systems
  • Must have a basic understanding of US GAAP and/or India accounting principles
  • Excellent written, oral and analytical skills
  • Collaboration and able to work within a team environment
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft office including including intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, vlookups)
