Who We’re Looking For:
As a key member of the R&D team, the Principal R&D Engineer will be responsible for driving R&D technical excellence and execution in drug coated catheters for both existing products and new product development. This includes aspects of product, process and component design, material selection/optimization, customer and product specification development, packaging design and other product development activities in support of the interventional urology portfolio goals.
About the Role:
- Responsible for product engineering and compliance with the medical device design control requirements globally
- Thought leader to drive improvements to current drug coated catheters as well as innovation of new products in the interventional urology business unit.
- Project management for engineering changes or projects where a small project team is required to achieve project goals.
- R&D resource assigned to product design projects for the development of drug coated catheters and associated components, chemistry, processes, and equipment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, materials science, engineering, or equivalent, with an advanced degree preferred and a minimum of 8 years of experience or equivalent experience plus education
- Regulated industry experience.
- Experience with statistics and design of experiments.
- Knowledge of applicable standards/regulations- GMP, EU MDD/EU MDR, and ISO 13485
Preferred Qualifications:
- Medical device experience is strongly preferred.
- Lean / Six Sigma training / certifications a plus.
