Are you the Milieu Coordinator we have been looking for? In this position you will be able to convey your passion for helping others by working with our youth!    

Anchor Academy is a therapeutic day school that specializes in trauma-informed services for students ages 10-22 with complex trauma histories, mental health issues, educational challenges, and/or behavioral difficulties. Anchor Academy offers students a supportive environment that addresses their education, clinical, pre-vocational, recreational and behavioral needs. Individual, group, nursing, and milieu counseling are provided.  

JRI provides the training so that:   

  • YOU will provide direct care and supervision of students in milieu experiencing dysregulation and provide interventions to students to help them safely manage their symptoms.  

  • YOU will serve as an integral member of our crisis response team including organizing and leading staff in related trainings.  

  • YOU will function as a Safety Coordinator, conduct monthly safety checks and support all efforts to ensure the safety and well-being of individuals, students, staff, and the program.  

  • YOU will maintain data and/or analysis of: attendance, behavior data, student goals, transportation, hospitalizations, and suspensions.  

  • YOU will implement individualized plans and interventions for students as it relates to regulation and returning to classroom environment.  

  • YOU will coordinate with teachers, clinicians and students to set and monitor student goals.  

  • YOU will co-facilitate staff meetings.

Requirements:   

  • Candidates must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in related field from an accredited university.   

  • Candidates should have one year of experience working with adolescents with complex mental health and learning needs.  

  • Candidates should have strong problem solving abilities and function effectively in a crisis.  

  • Candidate should have strong communication skills and be able to interact with students, families, and collaterals in a positive manner.  

  • Candidates should have basic computer skills and the ability to multitask.  

  • Candidates with a clinical focus are preferred.  

  • Candidates with licensure and advanced training or experience working in a school setting are preferred.  

  • At JRI, you will learn to provide physical interventions and verbal de-escalations to provide the safest therapeutic atmosphere for our youth.
