Who we are looking for: 

Are you the Family Partner we have been looking for? We are seeking an applicant that is passionate about helping others in the city of Lawrence and the surrounding communities. We are also seeking a candidate who can communicate with individuals in the community that need support in their preferred language of Spanish. In this position you will be able to convey your passion for helping others by supporting our clients to achieve their goals! JRI’s Community Service Agencies are dedicated to providing high-fidelity wraparound services for youth under the age of 21 who have been diagnosed with a serious emotional disturbance who require multiple services or are involved with multiple child-serving systems such as child welfare, special education, or juvenile justice. Our staff work collaboratively with the youth’s team to provide an individualized care plan and are committed to keeping youth safely in the community with the assistance of their natural supports. 

JRI provides the training so that: 

  • YOU will work alongside Clinicians, Young Adult Peer Mentors, and Therapeutic Support Specialists to support the delivery of strength-based peer-to-peer education, coaching, role modeling, guidance, and support services.
  • YOU will utilize your caregiving experiences to enhance the lives of youth who are presenting with difficult and challenging behaviors, and their families.
  • YOU will support families in navigating multiple systems of care and enable parents and caregivers to learn effective advocacy skills.

Bilingual a necessity for this open role!! We offer a bilingual bonus to any candidate who speaks, reads and writes in Spanish!

Requirements: 

  • Applicants must have a minimum of an Associate Degree in a human services field and 1 year of experience working with the target population; or a high school diploma/GED and 2 years of experience working with the target population.
  • MUST BE SPANISH SPEAKING for this open role
  • Applicants should have lived experience as a parent or caregiver of a youth with emotional, behavioral or learning challenges and experience accessing systems for support for your child’s needs.
  • Background and driving record checks will be performed.
