Are you the School Social Worker we have been looking for? In this position, you will be able to convey your passion for helping others with a dynamic team by bringing an energetic and positive approach while working with our students!

River Run Academy the clinical day school at the Susan Wayne Center of Excellence, offers intensive educational, vocational, and clinical services for mild to moderately cognitively impaired students. We are located on thirty-eight acres of property in beautiful Thompson, CT. Thompson is centrally located, 25 minutes south of Worcester, MA and 40 minutes west of Providence, RI. The program serves 18 adolescents with developmental disabilities who range in age from 10-21.

We provide training in cutting-edge treatment models, such as the ARC framework, Sensory Motor Arousal Regulation Treatment (SMART) and Neurofeedback Therapy. We offer ongoing monthly professional development through SMART and Family Therapy consultation. Clinical supervision is provided within a multidisciplinary team and we will help you obtain licensure if needed.

Schedule: At River Run Academy, we believe in work-life balance!  In this role, you will work Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM. You will also work a school year calendar, which means you will have all school vacations, holidays and snow days off, as well as the time you accrue - an additional 10 days a year!

Salary: $58,000 - $62,000 (dependent on licensure and experience)

What You'll Do:

This position is as a full time School Social Worker within our River Run Academy school program. The social worker provides individual, group, and family therapy to a caseload of residents. The social worker is an integral member of the resident’s treatment team and is also responsible for the development of interdisciplinary treatment plans, as well as all case documentation. The social worker will be expected to maintain professionalism and work alongside other professionals, as needed with other agencies.

Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Clinical licensure (LICSW, LCSW, LMHC) preferred. Ability to sit for clinical licensure required.
  • Minimum of two years experience in individual, group and family therapy and assessment with adolescents and experience in residential program or mental health in-patient program preferred. Knowledge in child and adolescent development required.
  • Experience and/or training in work with populations impacted by traumatic stress, mental and behavioral health challenges, and developmental disabilities preferred. Experience in case management, systems of care, and record keeping preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
  • Acceptable driving record check, Nationwide Alpha background check, State of CT criminal background check using fingerprints and DCF background check.
  • Maintain valid driver’s license.
  • Able to work alone in an unsupervised environment
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment physical examination.
  • Ability to be certified in BCC and in American Red Cross CPR/First Aid.
