Are you the Program Director we have been looking for? In this position you will be able to convey your passion for helping others by working with people in the community!

JRI’s Youth Harbors program provides services to high school students who are experiencing homelessness. Our staff aim to help these youth survive and thrive by equipping them with the skills and stability they need to graduate high school and transition into adulthood. We provide housing assistance, drop-out prevention services, career development and finical literacy coaching, connections to health care providers, post-graduation planning services, and life skills development. Most importantly, we create a support network around each student providing them the security of knowing that there is always someone they can reach out to for help. 

In this position, you will oversee and direct the program which supports high school students who are homeless, unaccompanied, or at risk of homelessness. This role involves managing program operations, leading a team, overseeing case management, ensuring financial stability, fostering partnerships, and ensuring compliance with regulations and program standards.

What You'll Do: 

  • Oversee the daily operations of state and local government-funded rental assistance and services for youth and families in Greater Boston.
  • Implement housing options and wraparound case management services.
  • Develop and execute program strategies, goals, and objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with funding requirements and program standards.
  • Supervise and support the Youth Harbors team, including:
  • Program Supervisor managing staff working with the Boston Mayor's Office of Housing
  • House Manager at the K-House College Scholars Program in Malden
  • Case Managers at Boston Public Schools, K-House, Malden High School, Somerville High School, and additional high schools as needed
  • Provide training, supervision, and performance feedback.
  • Ensure appropriate staff coverage and development opportunities.
  • Oversee case management services to ensure high-quality support.
  • Provide technical assistance to case managers on accessing rental assistance and flexible funding.
  • Conduct in-home and community-based visits with case managers.
  • Administer client satisfaction surveys and identify areas for improvement.
  • Manage the program budget, including rental payments and flex funds to support youth.
  • Seek and manage funding opportunities and grants.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with school districts, community providers, and government officials.
  • Act as a liaison with the Boston Mayor's Office of Housing.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with donors and potential funding sources, including managing fundraising campaigns and events to secure financial support for the program's sustainability and growth.
  • Represent the program at meetings, conferences, and workshops.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Prepare and submit internal and external reports and documentation.
  • Safeguard the confidentiality of all staff and client records.
  • Facilitate regular team meetings.
  • Ensure case managers participate in Group Clinical Supervision.
  • Assume additional duties as assigned by the Director of Housing.
  • Collaborate with other JRI Health teams.

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree, or at least five years of relevant professional and managerial experience in social services, program management, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years in program management, preferably in social services or education.
  • Experience in hiring, training, and supervising staff.
  • Proven case management experience, with youth homelessness experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of substance use, poverty, homelessness, and diverse populations.
  • Experience with housing assistance and subsidy systems preferred.
  • Bilingual/bicultural (Spanish or Haitian Creole) strongly preferred
